The Small Web

The Internet started as a new world of freedom and possibilities but has now become a synonym for three or four apps on your phone. Surfing the Web before Big Tech took over was wild, you never knew what you would find exploring menus and links. Every site screamed with creativity and identity. Personal sites as intimate as it gets, intense and insane art projects, fan pages, everything. The Internet was made by people and for people, not by corporations for targeted ads.

The Neocities platform here is a project by a guy named Kyle Drake, who gave us a free service to host static websites and express ourselves with more freedom than any big platform would allow. The community that has formed here is amazing. While surfing Neocities I have been finding a lot of interesting people showing their unique world and life views, and displaying all their creativity.
