What is Neocities?

The Internet started as a new world of freedom and possibilities but has now become a synonym for three or four apps on your phone. Surfing the Web before Big Tech took over was wild, you never knew what you would find exploring menus and links. Every site screamed with creativity and personality. Personal sites as personal as it gets, intense and insane art projects, fan pages, everything. The Internet was made by people and for people, not by corporations for targeted ads.

Neocities is an attempt to take the Internet back. A free service to host static websites where corporations can’t censor nor restrain you and your creativity, and you do whatever you want. Yeah, it still follows laws (if you want to promote anarchist cookbooks to eat the rich, or simply take back the control of your body from the State, try a Debian server through Tor?), but their ToS basically say if you’re offended by anything around here, just grow up and fuck off.

While surfing neocities I have been finding a lot of interesting people showing their unique world and life views and displaying all their creativity. I'm linking my favorites below - but some I didn't find buttons!
